Below is a brief on the folks who have been interviewed & recorded & more info on each individual, when editing is finished & ready for website.
John Foreman
John Foreman the cockney performer of cockney music-hall, London & English traditional folk songs, also known as 'The Broadshreet King' i.e. his independent press of ballads, poetry, ditties, observations, also book binder. Also father of Chris Foreman of the band 'Madness'. John brought music-hall songs into the folks clubs in London in the late 1950's & early 1960's, to the present.
Tom Paley
Tom Paley the American roots music muscian, playing in the 1950's & the Greenich village days of 1960's, to playing & touring with Woody Gutherie, playing with Leadbelly & still giging at present. To Bob Dylan quoting him as a source of songs for him in his autobiography & one of his albums.
Philip Knighton
Philip Knighton 'The Gramophone Man' gramophone & vintage radio repairs, also radio presenter for BBC, also for Orchard FM, Apple FM, 10 Radio, also studio engineer. From his home of Somerset, working at Wiliton,Taunton, Wellington, up to Cumbria & also Guatemala.
Alfie Wright
Alfie Wright from South East London, worked at the original Covent garden in the fruit & veg market, then moved with the market when it went to Nine elms working in the trade for over 50 years. Also work as a London black cab driver.
Bill Radford
Bill Radford from Wellington in Somerset, a shantie man for the 'Old spice boys' (a shanty crew, from Devon & Somerset). Bill sings traditional folk & has a repertoire of sea-songs, English folk songs, also a country & weston singer/guitarist.
